Work starts by extracting the load list and single-line diagram. After breaking-capacity and discrimination calculations, we draw the panel layout, heat load and cable entry plan. During the build, labelling, cable marking and busbar assembly follow standard practice; after testing the panel is handed over together with the terminal list and as-built drawings.

How we run this kind of project
- 01
Load list and single-line diagram
Existing and planned loads are listed, a diversity factor is agreed and the single-line diagram is drawn. Skip this step and every later calculation rests on guesswork.

Protection and discrimination
Prospective fault currents are calculated, and breaking capacity, tripping curve and discrimination follow from them. The aim is that only the faulty feeder opens while the plant stays up.

Layout and heat load
Component layout, busbar route, cable entry plan and heat load are drawn together. Fan, thermostat and filter selection are the outputs of this calculation.

Build, wiring and labelling
The panel is built, busbars mounted and wiring completed to standard. Every conductor and terminal is marked, which shortens every future intervention.

Testing, installation and handover
Factory tests are carried out, then site installation and commissioning. The panel is handed over with single-line, layout, terminal schedule and test records.

Frequently asked about Control Panel Design and Build
How long does a panel build take?
The schedule depends less on scope than on material availability. For a distribution panel built from stocked items, approval to delivery is usually a few weeks; custom enclosures and long-lead devices extend it. The quotation states the delivery date per line.
Should I retrofit or replace my panel?
We assess the enclosure condition, heat load, cable entry capacity and free rail length together. If the body is sound and the added heat load can be handled, a retrofit is usually more economical. We survey on site before deciding.
Which documents come with the panel?
Single-line and layout drawings, terminal and cable schedules, a test report and an as-built file. Automation panels also come with parameter backups and a tag list.
